The day was short got to grab a few trinkets to take home in the market. Worked on my projects and chilled all day. These two weeks went by so fast I guess time does fly when you’re having fun. Ate at Eddies burgers it was great and came back to the room and turned it in.

When the outlook isn’t good go for the up look is all I could remember when I was at the orphanage. I saw so much in these kids so many possibilities despite there limited resources there spirit still allowed them to be happy and persevere despite there conditions. Socio economics another way to discriminate it’s sickening how a people and there conditions can be ignored while others are addressed. Micheal Jackson’s they don’t really care about us rung through my ears, as I thought as a people are any of us really living when some of us are allowed to die and the others are allowed to flourish.

The day went well it was full of new experiences and cultural enlightenment. Endless picture taking but no pixilation can capture the beauty of people knowing and embracing who they are. The absence of knowing self as a people left African Americans with no identity. Its a blessing to see the little culture left that wasn’t massacred.

It was a great experience to see how the cultural food is made here. I kinda wanted to try and cook it myself but the sight of it done was efficient. Not to mention the taste of it when it was finally done it wasn’t horrible like the chef said but I see I understand his humor.

I missed the post last night my Guanana was spiked. The form of martial arts created to look like dance was beyond ingenious. But its rhythmic pattern seems to be inherent I had so fun. Who would of known you can dance and kick someones behind at the same. The food gets better every day and the group does to great fun with great people.

Man I never would have know these girls had rhythm lol. Tyra was getting it its always the quite ones I’m joking but we all had fun. I had a better workout then I get in the gym sweating and all. Bridget drop kicked a car mirror the lady whose car it was cool about it that was all good. The night ended at the gas station who would of known you can fill up at the tank and inside.

Class was great started to learn how to code. Finished my HW and walked around the beach and got some food on the ocean drive.  Got to get a nap in before dinner then ate McDonald’s bc of the language barrier. Being able to communicate efficiently never had so much importance until you’re in a foreign place and you realize how important it is.

Sailing was amazing the simplest things in life when appreciated seem so complex. The culture and the people here have so much personality. A personality representing their own embracing it they truly know who they are or have a sense of it!

This trip is so influential to the discovery of a lost culture our lost culture as African Americans. The play today was better than any broadway play as I looked I saw people that looked like me dancing and I thought about the dance of the modern day culture how its demonized and sexualized. Its irrefutably a spin off the original dance and it had no negative connotations upon its conception but was clearly demonized like many other thing in an effort to obliterate a culture then reclaim it as their’s once they mimic it.

Bahia is amazing I really got to see so much of my culture that was stripped from my people. It’s beautiful here!
