Today was great we started the day off going to a market in the countryside were they had a snack we tried it was fruit and cheese. Then we went to a mans booth that had natural tobacco, Viagra, and massage oils. After that we went to a house were the elder was preparing flower, it was a very humbling experience. Lunch was good we ate at a house on the top of the hill. My favorite part of the meal was the mango sorbet. Lastly we went to Cachoeira and saw the cigar factory as well as learned about the sisterhood of the good death.

Today we were able to go to a cooking class. The chef was amazing he took us step by step on how to prepare muquaca. My favorite part was when we got to eat the final product. By far the best muquaca I’ve had here. Dinner was good as well who knew Brazilian pizza was that good.

 

Today was great we started our morning with learning Capoeira in the first capoeira academy founded in Brazil.  The movements were almost like a dance and it had to do with flexibility and strength.  I enjoyed myself and if possible I would like to find a capoeira in the states. I wish i could have gone to the catholic/contemple service tonight but i feel sick so i decided to get some medicine and chill in the room hopefully i get better because i would hate to be sick here.

Yesterday was another great day.  Class was good I presented my project and everybody seemed to like it had a few minor things I had to change but for the most part I did a good job.  The african dance class was a very good experience and a workout. But the highlight of my day was meeting Everton on the bus. It told me that music is global and its not about the words most of the time it is about the vibe you give off.

Today was a good day in the words of Ice Cube. Class was good we learned how to add text to our photos on Illustrator. Also we learned how to put our logos on the photo.  Lunch was good we had mucaka at this restaurant of the ocean, it was delicious. After that we went back to the room and worked on our projects. I’m excited to present tomorrow.

 

Today was a great experience.  Learning about how deep the African roots run here in Salvador is absolutely amazing.  I am looking forward to the rest of the trip.
