today getting ready for class I wasn’t feeling well at all. My throat hurts , it hurts to swallow , my body is having hot flashes , nostrils flared, etc. I made it through the class and lunch but that was about all I could take. When we returned to the room , my roommate gave me a pill . It knocked me out until she returned. I didn’t make it to the drum class. & I didn’t really want to me around people feeling like this . I’m just ready to go home

we went to the market on the lower half and got a few souvenirs.  it was a free day . So I slept most if the day and tried working on my project . I really don’t understand photoshop . It makes my head hurt lol I ate bobs for dinner . And stayed up to tell Bridget happy birthday

We attended an orphanage is Bahia which was sort of depressing . From the moment I walked in my heart melted. I have a weakness for children , and I love the bad ones lol. When we first started interacting I was drawn to this little baby . At first she resisted me , but after a while she played .. The whole time I was there she mad me think of my little sister and what if this was us . The children were so sweet and didn’t deserve their circumstances.

 

As as a group me & classmates went and bought them household supplies and food. I felt very happy afterwards . I even bought the baby girl a new pacifier .. That was a great day .

today we went on a tour to different African cities and places to view how our culture came about in Brazil .. We went and viewed homes , churches, food markets and neighborhoods in which the government calls the poor of the city .. I later found out it really only means the places the government does not assist the citizens living in that area..

 

After lunch , I took a nap and attended a candomble service with othe classmates .. It was quite interesting .. It’s not something I’m very fond of .. But for viewing It the first time it was a sight to see

Today my classmates went to a cooking class at SENCA. I did not attend I wasn’t feeling too well.  I stayed in the room and rested . I attended dinner with the classmates

today we went to a copeira class. Martial arts combined with dance movements.. It was great .. Anything that consists of rhythm and dancing, I love to do. I also got a dance with the leader lol .. It was so fun .. After every dance I felt like a load was lifted off of me ..  Afterwards we went to lunch , had class. We also went to a night service at a church .. It was interesting .. I wish I knew what was being said .. lol I didn’t understand the language but the view was exquisite ..  The rest of the day I hung with classmates . Today was a chill day

today was a good day. I learned a little more about web designing and afterwards went to  Samba class. It was soo much fun. at the beginning I was ready to give up but I kept going and glad I did. we did many movements and dances, with many I was already familiar with. I was extremely tired afterwards, but my body felt relieved . I truly enjoyed the class today. cant wait for the next class in the morning.

Today was a laid back day. We had class and afterwards the day was ours. For lunch I decided to eat at Bob’s. The food was great and I also had ice cream. It tastes different from American, but it was good. Afterwards, me and Daria ventured out to the mall. I bought a few things and we enjoyed ourselves.  Upon return, I relaxed with my roommate. Later we left for Dinner.

 

Boy what an adventure. We weren’t informed that most restaurants were closed or closing by 9pm. We left for food at 8pm. A few places denied us entrance because they were closing. We walked up and down the strip,realized we would make it to the mall too late. We found a pizza joint right by the hotel and ate there. Had a girls night and gathering on the rooftop. Just ladies, pizzas, drinks, and deep convos.

Today was exactly what I expected … Extraordinary ! We arose early this morning to load the sail boat . We visited two islands (can’t remember the names) . The first island had the population of only a thousand people. They were very friendly. I purchased a souvenir, coconut water , and a meal . All of which I liked tremendously .. We walked the island and viewed the land ..I saw a few houses , animals and two churches . I assumed all food eaten there must be grown. Later I was informed it was true , but it’s also a boat that brings products to town . I enjoyed the view and seeing the environment they lived in. I wish I could speak their language. 😩

 

The second island  was beautiful as well . The beach was more of an outdoor restaurant . When we got to the entrance we received complimentary drinks. There was a buffet set out for us to eat .. It was very cozy. Many others went on the tour to go up the stream and view the town , I chose to stay . While on the beach I found many unique shells & also a baby crab. I named him “Larry” , But I released him back to the beach . My last venture was laying in the hammock like seen on movies .. 😍😍😍 its the best feeling. I was sleep before I knew it . Just laying there resting and rocking I didn’t know I dozed off . It was the best feeling ever. Relaxing while listening to the sounds of the ocean , while the Sun’s beaming. Today was a experience I’d only dreamed of . I appreciate being given this opportunity.

Today was extraordinary .. We went to an school and learned of its origin.. It was very interesting. The students must have good grades and behavior to participate in the program .. In exchange they learn to read music and learn to play different instruments ..

I really enjoyed the shower tonight and the dinner was great. Each day seems to be getting better and the experience of learning is always at hand .
